MALOSSI gear set Z 55/40/37/36 for Vespa PX 150

The MALOSSI gear set is intended for the Vespa PX 150 from the 1978-2016 model year range. The set combines four gears with the tooth numbers Z 55, Z 40, Z 37 and Z 36. The different tooth configuration compared to the original is used to achieve a variable gear ratio for the four gears as required.

Execution and function

• Specially hardened steel supports the resilience of the gears.
• Production is carried out using CNC hobbing machines.
• The contact surfaces are ground and designed for the interaction of the gears.
• Small depressions on the contact surfaces support oil transport and improve lubrication between the sliding surfaces.
• Wherever it is structurally possible, relief holes are made. This was omitted in the contact area between the wheel and the gear selector lever so as not to cause any breakage.
