MALOSSI aluminum cylinder for Piaggio Liberty 150 IE

The MALOSSI aluminum cylinder with 63 mm bore and 14 mm piston pin is intended for the Piaggio Liberty 150 IE LEM 3 V E 3 (M 735) built in 2013-2014. The design as a 4-stroke cylinder combines an enlarged bore with precisely designed components for the intended racing operation.

The cylinder liner has a silicon carbide coating in electroplated nickel form and crossed smoothing with two diamond passes. Machining is carried out on numerically controlled machine tools. Cylinder and piston are matched to each other with a tolerance of 0.05 mm. Revised heat exchange surfaces support the thermal design.

Pistons and rings

The ultra-compact three-ring piston is made of a special aluminum alloy with high silicon content, low thermal expansion and tin coating on the sliding surfaces. The reinforced, weight-reduced version has a nitrided and chrome-plated I-compression ring, a special cast ring and a three-part wiper ring made of special chrome-plated steel alloy.
