The MALOSSI aluminum cylinder ø 63 ø 14 4-stroke is designed for the Piaggio Liberty 125 2 V E 3 (M 386) from the entire 2007-2008 model year range. The design is intended for use in competitions at designated venues in accordance with the regulations of the relevant sports associations.

Structure and editing

The primary aluminum alloy has a high proportion of hardened and tempered silicon. The cylinder liner has a silicon carbide coating in electroplated nickel form. A crossed smoothing with two diamond passes supports execution with very limited tolerances.

Machining is carried out on numerically controlled machine tools. A tolerance of 0.05 mm is provided for the cylinder-piston connection. Revised heat exchange surfaces complement the technical design.

Pistons and piston rings

The ultra-compact 3-ring piston is made of a special aluminum alloy with high silicon content and low thermal expansion. The sliding surfaces have a tin coating. The piston is weight-reduced and reinforced.

Special rings with high sliding properties and high mechanical strength are used: a nitrided and chrome-plated I-ring, a special cast ring and a three-part wiper ring made of special chrome-plated steel alloy.
