YAMAHA XTZ 700 TENERE [2018-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. This state-of-the-art chain features innovative Z-ring technology that eliminates the need for regular lubrication that would otherwise be necessary every 1,000 km. This offers motorcyclists a significant increase in comfort and reduces maintenance requirements.

Extensive testing both in the laboratory and on the road has proven that the lifespan of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a traditional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A key advantage of the HPE chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and ensures a reduction in energy losses and an increase in efficiency in the secondary drive.

The ta-C coating combines extreme hardness with a low coefficient of friction, which further increases efficiency and minimizes energy consumption. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubrication during operation helps minimize environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
